Got my 650's today, and man am I happy with them

Had DT770 before I finally decided to go ahead and order the 650's. It's just so much better for music listening. Im still going to use the dt770's for games and movies though, cause they are really fun in that area

I thought HD650's were more comfortable than 580's?

What amp do you use?
It's interesting you mention lack of punch. I listened a lot of Alan Parsons Project and Pink Floyd last week. I was actually impressed how slammy it sounded.
I did a reality check by switching between my Darkvoice and the headphone out of my DAC.
The difference in punchyness is really easy to tell. My Darkvoice definitely lifts it up. To an impressive level actually. Mind you this is a tube amp. Another myth busted about all tube amps lacking punch.
My point is the HD650 needs a nice amp to really shine.

Big fan of the HD-650! The most underrated headphone under 500 USD.

I believe you have access to a Creek OBH-21(SE) in Malaysia. That amp, when you pair it up with a regulated 24V PSU, will mate great with the HD-650. Clean, tight and agile are what you will hear with this combo.

Cheers!

Great can. It is the one that gets the most head time in my modest collection. Really lets you enjoy the music with a very refined presentation. Mates well with good solid state amplification. I agree with Kool Bubba Ice about "least understood with myths and negativity surrounding it".

I am blown away by HD650 in my modest balanced setup. It's probably the best headphone under $1000 in balanced setup.

the HD650 in balanced operation is probably the best headphone currently in production and using it balanced it is probably one of the best headphones period.
