Just replaced both drivers (with capsules) in my decade old HD600s with their newest revision (ordered from Sennheiser USA).
That made quite a bit of a difference!

I think they've started sounding thin and harsh (too bright), leading to extreme fatigue even on lowest volume. I think it happened after I've tried to remove dust off them some time ago with blowing air (not a good idea)... Also diaphragm looks weird in one of them (dome is elevated and almost touches the capsule/housing) and it was a tad quieter than another, so the stereo imaging was messed up a little. I think it was damaged too. So I've decided to replace them both with latest and greatest Sennheiser has to offer (newest revision). The old ones were the original design (big brass ring) with black baffle plates.

Left them overnight pumping some dark drum'n'bass, that should do it. Didn't sound horrible from the start, though.

I love the HD600s! I think the HD650s show even more finesse and sound tighter with better transients than the 600s. I've been using the now defunct Melos Tubed headphone amp/preamp in my system (SHA-1). I just upgraded my digital front end to the Bryston BDA-1 (wow!)

  My new HD600 has been burn in about 100 hours now and sounds stunning coming through my amp.  Prior to the HD600 I had been using the K400 which is fantastic but lacks the conviction and power of the HD600.  My Hi-Res Porcupine Tree has never sounded so sweet!  

 
Your HD600 will open up some more after 100 hours of play, esp. in the treble range! LOVE Porcupine Tree - great headphone mixes. Be sure to check out the earlier pre-Atlantic records albums!

Mine didn't change one bit after the first couple of hours and even that period was most likely "brain burn-in". Don't expect them to change.
