Received my Senn 600s today... Will have 'em running 24/7 of the CD player headphone jack to break in while awaiting the MG Head DT (CDV)...

Just excited, that's all.

briantf27: Does your HD600 indicate "Made in Ireland"? Mine does. I assumed Sennheiser was German manufactured.

I guess they're designed in germany and constructed in ireland. I mean, this is happening more and more these days. Made in anywhere, really doesnt mean an awful lot.

BTW, even intel CPUs are manufactured in ireland these days!

Yes, Made In Ireland is on my box. But, of course, all the manuals are in German.

I'm a little concerned with how much sound they let out. I can't have them disturbing my office mates... Must have been a louder environment when I auditioned... We'll see.

Anyhow, isn't this sweet midrange OR WHAT!?!?!

Ahh yes, so true. It matters not where the phone is manufactured since we all end up taking them apart anyway right?

I haven't seen any Senns manufactured during the last few years made in Germany. Everything is in Ireland. Even in Germany the Senns are made in Ireland, perhaps Sennheiser closed all german phone making lines and opted for the cheaper labour in Ireland.
On the other hand, all Beyers are still made in Germany.

But you're right it doesn't matter so much.

it's my opinion that grado sound leakage is way over-exagerated. the HD600's leak just as much or more than my SR80's...

Well, it turns out that they're not that bad. There is more ambient noise in the workplace than I had counted on. They are drowned out pretty well, and I can listen with sufficient volume.

Now if the MG Head would just arrive... Its just killing me knowing that this isn't nearly as good as they get!

Congrats!! FYI, I noticed a significant audible difference in the 600s after putting 100+ hours on them... They really opened up.
