I've really been wanting to build a PC in this case, but I need another PC like I need more schiit... (I don't, I have more than I can use of both already)
I couldn't stand it and opened mine up and confirmed that it is spinning. On power-up it goes to the full rated 6K RPM and is slightly audible with the bottom cover on and my ear very close. After a couple of seconds, it goes down to approx. 3K RPM and is bearely audible with bottom off and my ear very close. With the bottom screwed back on I could not hear. My case is over a year old, so maybe it's a different fan MFG.
Alex, you've stumbled across my favorite rock band. Listen to "Pneuma" and try to count how many times the time signature changes in just under 12 minutes... these guys are mathematicians and musicians!**
Well thank you for the welcome. I have been reading this thread for a LONG time. I guess I finally signed in last year. I almost never post, and sometimes "react" but it is a fascinating place to hang out. It moves fast. My power was out for 4 days, and then it has taken me 4 days to catch back up. I still don't really understand the cardboard jokes, I almost resurfaced my garage, I seem to be building a list of bourbon to try, I am a dog person with a cat named Mowgli, and I really enjoy this Schiit.

I'm in Louisville to do a whisky tasting tour. After a 7 hour drive on Thursday, I was over 160 posted behind. Finally caught up. So far, I've picked up 3 bottles, one was a New Riff 6 year malted rye, a a Henry McKenna 10 year bother in bond and a limited release Old Forester Rye.
That is me. Lyr 3 into Lokius into Aegir. All fed by a tiny little Modi Multibit 2. I'm on a budget and just couldn't talk myself into buying a Bifrost. Not that I am in the least bit disappointed with the MM2.
I've read a couple of posts that say they were hard pressed to tell the difference between a Bifrost and MMB2. You're looking at spending about $500 more. If you can't tell the difference, why pay the difference?
The trick will be hearing differences that up my enjoyment. I'll have to see what cans the local audio shops carry, or take a Saturday road trip to Toronto to Bay Bloor Audio.
Congrats on a very successful product management life-cycle for a world-class product. Kids are born, leave the nest, live life… and the cycle repeats. (As it were)
I really don't think we need a water cooled PC as a music server. Unless you are upsampling everything to DSD max bit rate while performing room EQ on 8 rooms simultaneously! The case is stunning though....
Personally I like my fanless case that I transplanted my NUC into....
