Thanks for this! And... I can probably be persuaded to eventually add a sub to the system when the budget allows
HT subs are much easier to work with than music subs. There are certainly bargains for when the budget allows.

Tonight's Jazz recommendation...

A bit different, but I like it.

Lol! And you would be correct until it comes to driving. Like it would even be possible for me to become more impatient, somehow I am.:smile:
Oh crap. I didn't know there were others with the 'impatient driving disorder' like me. I am willing to do just about anything for an extra 3 seconds on the road!

Glad you made it safely!

Now it's time to look for some BBQ-ish. 🤣
Gonna be difficult for him... isn't NC BBQ "BBQ-ish"?

No, no, no....you haven't been paying attention. NC BBQ is BBQ. Everything else is not exactly. And really, I thought referring to TX BBQ as 'ish' was pretty charitable of me. 🤣

I would not agree on upper register brightness on Melz if you listen to the golden era tubes. 70’s and 80’s versions yes.😁 They were manufactured for four decades.
It's much the same with the Fotons, although their sonic decline starts in exactly 1960 where the Melz are good at least into the mid-60's. IMO, of course.

Your opinion is an educated one.😁 Some take the time to know.

They all cost an arm and leg unfortunately. I've been enjoying the RCA Red Base 5692s though for preamp purposes
Acquired ONE of these red bases for my se-40 way back in the day, but she committed suicide by jumping out of her box one day during a move - and all the magic smoke was let out. Se-40 long since gone (manually biasing with a PC hard drive harness and meter? No thanks).

I still have a half dozen various 6sn7s I am seeking equipment for. Kinda backwards I know, but is what it is.
