yeah it's pretty decent OS.  i've been using it for 1.5yrs now.  very stable, gets updates regular, and kimo is easy to deal with (regarding stupid questions etc...).

i've got it running on 2 of my players.

Jason - here is a product for 2016:

* A Bifrost Multibit with fully discrete analog output in the Gungnir metal box, without the balanced output (or any other differences between Bifrost and Gungnir).

Normally one might say "if you want fully discrete analog output then get a Gungnir Multibit" but $1249 is more than twice $599...

Really, it is about double in price go up in Sigma-Delta

Modi -  100 x 4 = Bitfrost - 400 x 2.125 = Gungnir - 850 x 2.7 = Yggy- 2300

Now lets go MB

Mulifrost - 600 x 2 = Gumby - 1250 x 1.9 = Yggy - 2300

How about a product in-between Multifrost and Gumby that was 16-bit Multibit, with discrete single ended -10 outputs? I'd really settle for a product in-between Modi and Multifrost - a non-upgradeable Multibit box for around $250-$299. I doubt either of these will happen.

By the way, the 4x jump between Modi 2 and Bifrost is clearly justified with the upgrade-ability, better power supply, better overall quality (DAC, interface, and output) and more digital inputs.

I'm wondering which one is the best value in that lineup... Which one gives the most sound quality per dollar? Probably it's impossible to calculate objectively, but I'd die to know what Jason and Mike (subjectively) think.

Look here where Jason says, "When I say 'Magni 2 and Modi 2 may be the only amp and DAC you’ll ever need,' I mean it sincerely. When I tell someone, 'Don’t bother with the amp and DAC at all, spend more on your headphones,' I’m 100% serious."

That should answer your question.

"May be" - pretty open remark.

My MultiFrost is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.  I am so stoked !!!
Will report back after doing all the neurotic stuff I will need to to make it feel at home.  Of course I'm serious.
