Source : Samsung Note 4 Exynos
Dac Amp : Chord Hugo
Iem : JH Roxanne AKR 03 special tuning for AK daps
Music player : UAPP
Cable : micro to micro USB
Sq : very good from smart phone must better than my note 3
Thanks!
I am wondering if the stock music player of the Galaxy Note 4 can play and output hi-res audio to the Chord Hugo.
The stock Galaxy Note 3 was able to output hi-res audio.

I have a Note 4. I was playing some mp3s on it though some Sennheiser Amperiors. Sounded pretty good to me.
I then played some HDTRACKS Led Zeppelin I 96/24 through Power amp and again, it sounded great.
Amperiors are very easy to drive and although the Note 4 can play music loud enough, the SQ tends to go down the higher the volume.
I think the Note 4 + an E12 would be a nice combo. It won't replace my Fiio X3 for most portable listening, but it will do nicely for running (I use an app to track my runs).

Samsung Note 4 Audiophile set Up With Theorem 720
Source : Note 4
Dac / Amp : Theorem 720
Iem : Note 4 Stock
Music Player : USB Audio Player Pro
SQ :
Cypher Labs Theorem can make my Note 4 to Audiphile Sound Quality even With Stock Note 4 iem , With High End iem
Like JH Roxanne AKR 03 and Fit Ear MH 335 DW Studio Reference is 2 step above stock Note 4 iem
The pairing With UAPP is very Easy just plug and play
IMO

Why are you using UAPP with note 4? Even neutron is better sounding

To my ears on my setup (Samsung Galaxy Note 3 > Objective DAC > SoundLab Neco V3 amp > MrSpeakers Alpha Dog headphones), UAPP is the best sounding music player for the time being. And I am not alone.

There is at least one technical reason: USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP) doesn't perform resampling.
Usual music players, like Neutron or Poweramp, have to interface with the Android media player framework which currently performs 44.1kHz-to-48kHz resampling (i.e. only outputs 48kHz PCM streams to USB DAC).
UAPP doesn't have to interface with the Android media player framework for streaming audio via USB: it includes its own USB audio soft driver.

Thanks for the info. I did not know that the Note3 can play hires. I also have some HD Track 192 materials. It will be awesome if I can play them on my Note4. I did not know the DAC in the Note 4 is capable of processing hires music. Sounds like Poweramp can do it. Besides Poweramp, any other player will do a good job?

The native hi-res audio support has been removed on my Android 4.4.2-powered Galaxy Note 3.

The generic music players (stock music player, Neutron, Poweramp, ...) can play hi-res music files but only output 48kHz PCM streams to hi-res capable USB DAC: i.e. the generic music players have to interface with the current Android media player framework, which can only output 48kHz PCM streams to USB DAC as well as to internal DAC.
UAPP can play 32/384 music files, and output 32/384 PCM streams to a 32/384 USB DAC.
Also, UAPP can play DSD music files, and output DSD over PCM (DoP) streams to a DSD USB DAC.

Before the existence of UAPP / UARP, my preferred music player was Neutron. I have almost all existing music players.

Thank you DanBa
I have it. I haven't played any thing one since I have the AK240.
Just my 128GB from my AK240 in my note 4.
SetupowerAmp Full (software) > note 4 > Weston 4r.
Test 1: Adele - Lovesong 96/24.
Test 2: Bob Marley - 3 little birds 24/192
Ive noticed a slight improvement over the note 3. The output Seem to be a lot higher than the Note 3. I listen to both songs at about 20% of the total volume and it was more than enough.

If it is the case, there is no resampling: the Android media player framework is bypassed like on the Sony Xperia Z2 / Z3.
