Here is the link for the silicone case:

I'll give the the leather case a chance...I don't have much choice right now since I don't have the silicone once yet.

Oh yes I forgot..I am on the latest firmware 0.70...I read too Hidizs will be releasing fw 0.73 soon.

Oh.. i hadn't noticed AP100 were still contemplating pushing out more firmware. Could you be so kind as to push me in the right direction of where u saw/heard this? Is there even a Firmware Suggestion page at all for the AP100?

PS Thanks for the link. Trust me, the leather case fits the AP100 eventually. Alternatively you can buy this case (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/like/201221275867?limghlpsr=true&hlpht=true&ul_noapp=true&hlpv=2&chn=ps&lpid=107&ops=true&viphx=1) I use it with the Ap100 and it fits really well with decent access to most popular buttons.

I currently have Fiio X3 first gen, and people saying this better but im one of those people who wants good SQ AND Battery.
So if I dont intend to use full size headphones and only iems then is it worth getting this or Sony A17? Is SQ a lot better on AP100?

If battery life is important I would steer clear of the AP100. I'm a few weeks in now and I honestly doubt I get 10hrs. I only listen for a max of 5-6hrs but often I am left with only 15-20% left or so. (whereas really I should have 40-50% left).
I have my volume very high tho (70-80/80), toggle EQ a fair bit and have screen timed off after 10secs.
It doesn't bother me as I'm done after 5-6hrs, it gets a charge thereafter.

I too drive IEMs only, but my experience is that the Alien Shozy and AP100 succeed better in driving my PFE232's than the 'generic' mp3 player market such as Cowon, Sansa etc.
In fact, my Yamaha EPH100's are very hissy with the latter players, whereas on the former players they sound excellent, not a hiss to be heard.

Interesting, most people that review the Sony A17 say it cant drive full sized phones well but is fine for IEMs that are not low impedance.

Still not made my mind up yet! ha
Might wait for IBasso DX80.

I didn't know iBasso was working on a new DAP...so many new players out there. Sony has a new one too...more expensive than the A17. http://www.shenzhenaudio.com/sony-nw-zx100-walkman-zx-series-128g-high-resolution-sound-media-player.html

An there is a new one from Shanling I like and it's more in the price range of the AP100 and the A17 http://www.shenzhenaudio.com/shanling-m2-hifi-portable-lossless-musicl-player-dsd-player.html

Yeah the ZX100 is out of my price range too..nice but that's close to $1000. The M2 is more reasonably priced but it might not have the battery life you're looking for. 10 hours is what it's rated at which seems pretty standard for most of these DAPs. Some a little longer and some less. I think the Pono only gets 8 hours or so.

My AP100 has cleared customs and should be here on Tuesday! Yeah!! If only i could sell my Fiio X3ii...It's been on Ebay for a week for only $200 CDN and not one nibble.

Have you tried the sale forums on Head-Fi? No E-Bay fees, and an audience that is 99% willing to spend money on audio equipment.

I did place an ad and actually ended up selling to a Head-Fi member on the weekend but I was unsure of how things were sold on here and there is a warning about giving out your paypal address so I just place a link to my ebay ad for the X3ii and sold it that way.

Bruce, Man, you know the score, the only thing that is important is that you satisfy the wife!

Glad you like the AP100, you are not alone lusting after other gear, I have always had a roving eye for good stuff!

Has anyone found improvement by amping the AP100 with any of the newer amps???????????????????????????????????????????

I have tried it with the Cayin C5 but slight more of a sideways improvement.

I have also had the Fiio E12A but not with the AP100.

I am using mine with Yamaha HPH-MT220 cans but rarely with IEM'S.

I find a great improvement with my AP100 & Cayin C5 : more big soundstage, better bass...
I also have the E12A : not in my state. :-/

Thanks! That is interesting to hear, I have since changed my cans from the Yam 200 to 220, I suppose a lot depends on the synergy.

What are you using?
Guys please keep giving us more ideas from your experience!
