Anyone using a Chord Mojo with IM-04? Could you please write a small review on the sound.  Thank you.

The Mojo is said to be rather warm-sounding. I don't have the Mojo, myself, so I must take the reviewer's word on that. But since I know the IM04 is also very warm, you might not want to pair it with something like that. Warm on warm can turn to DARK very quick.

I learned that from experience. The IM04 paired with the FiiO X5 Classic sounded downright dark on some music. When that happens the music seems muffled, with a serious loss in clarity and detail.

The IM03 pairs beautifully with warm gear.

Just to know that IM03/04 are now discontinued! I'm going to get one soon before it too late.

ps. im04 is rather neutral-bright when pair with upgrade cable.

Is that true? Does that means AT seriously are replacing the IM line with E series?

such a shame.... IMO the IM0X BA models are still better than E50 and E70...

Its definitely a different sound. More variety can never be bad though, something for everyone

Have you heard the E70?

Audio Technica says the E70 is an upgrade to the IM series, and I definitely agree.

I know everyone may have a different opinion and I respect that.  However, the bass and noise level definitely bests any of the IM models.

I also have the ckr9/10.  The bass is  greater than or equal to the ckr 10 and the se846 in my humble opinion.  However, the clarity and treble is still there.  So we don't have to sacrifice the treble or mids for the bass.

Also, the noise level is lower than any of the IM models.  I really liked the IM, but the noise levels were relatively high to me listening on the lgv10 with viper4android.  The noise level is definitely reduced on the E70 resulting in better clarity.

To beat the e70, one will have to go over the $1000  customs price range.  But the e70 only costs $399.

You find the e70 just as warm and smooth as the IM03? If so, I'm interested in hearing it.

I was told the e model was more neutral, which put me off it.

Smooth yes but also neutral in the sense that it plays the track back as it was recorded.  Also nuetral in the sense that you get your lows, mids, highs without drowning out either, unless it was poorly produced or you're using garbage tracks = garbage in, garbage out.

The higher the quality your tracks and your source, the more you're going to hear the difference between the im series and the e70.

Although there's a major dealbreaker to the e70, which is fit.  You have to find the right tips. period!  Even then, it's still not going to be the best fit.  I use sony hybrids.

This is hard to explain, and this might not make any sense to you and to many people.  But, the e70's fit sucks however the sound is still going to be more superior than just about any headphone you will hear that's $1000 and below.  Although that sucks, it's very impressive at the same time!

I use the Sony hybrids which I found fits and sounds the best.  I'm thinking about getting them custom molded to fit my ears.

Everything you've described can be said about the IM03 as well.

The IM03 I would call neutral-warm. Not dead flat. It has slightly heightened bass, but never does the bass drown out the other frequencies. The presentation is open, airy, and very clear, with a nice touch of warmth.

I don't know what you mean by "noise level". The IM03 does not come off any more "noisy" than my Angie, Solar, or ADEL U12.
