REVIEW: HiFi ET MA8 DAP

Hi project86, did you have a chance to test:
1) MA8 with optional balanced amp card;
2) MA8 with MA9 amp card;
3) Colorfly C4Pro (priced slightly higher than MA8)?
Very interested in your opinion and comparison versus stock MA8.

Sorry, no experience with any other amp card. I could swap the MA9 amp in there but I haven't had time to mess with it. If I do find time, I'd probably spend it working on a Rockbox install. I've tried and tried with no luck, I guess it's true that you really do need Win XP to make it work.

I didn't like the Colorfly at all. Too bulky, funny looking. awkward controls, and sound which I dont find very special for the price.

  Any thoughts between the MA8 and the iHiFi 960 for synergy with my AS2???

 
 
Both would likely be pretty nice. I'd probably choose the MA8 for my AS-1b, since it has a more lit up top end. Which is helpful on the somewhat dark AS-1 series. Not sure about the AS-2 though - you may do better with the smoother 960.
