  Hey People,
This is my first post on Head-Fi site.
My current setup is a Fiio X1 + Grado Sr80e.
Is an amp recommended?

Thank You

SR80 don't mind a little power, I personally think the cable is so thick a little juice doesn't hurt. X1 does drive most IEM comfortably however I think a little helping hand is worth experimenting with, clean up the sound etc. One popular little portable amp atm is Topping NX1.

Pop into the NX1 thread and have a read.

My favourite amp right there. Plug that into a GR07 or ER4S and you can almost leave Head-Fi.

I have to try more stuff with it. It scales up nice. I'm always trying new sources with it. It even makes my Denon AH-D 7000s react. Not totally perfect but 80 percent perfect.

This place is Hotel California........you can check-out any time you like but you can never leave.:smiling_imp:

I guess i might buy the NX1 or the NX2 over the summer. I just require a little more sound stage for concertos and other forms of classical music. (Loudness is not a concern coz i mostly listen at low to moderate volumes.
Thanks

Heh Heh, I'm with you there! If it were not for the battery life on my Tomahawk it would be #1

Sweet Redcar, I want to try those little JBL's out. Owned many a pair of their speakers over the years and had a special place in my heart for all of them especially my L-65 Jubal's

Seriously you need to try the 421 with several DAPS, the 7th Gen Nano was my only fail so far!

Where you got an interconnect for $3?
Amazing setup for less than $200
Also I like the photo quality, what's your camera setup?

THX
Nikon 5100 with kit lens. Straight out of camera J-Peg. The trick is to use the shade white balance setting but be outside in the morning with white reflecting down and indirect light.
Mini to mini?
These little shops have them, sorry no on line links. As you can guess I've tried many of them, and think they all sound different.lol:D
