Darn it is 1K AUD. Still cheaper than K3003 and almost half a dozen other IEM in the market.

Yep...that's what I call a glass half full of Oriolus

Although I can't afford it for the time being with a (2nd hand) 1p2 coming in...

This year I promise not to experiment and buy product which have some maturity in the market. Price is one important factor the other factor is disappointment factor which goes high exponentially as the prices increase.

I heard one yesterday, immediately I recalled the 846's tone. It's tuned to be like an 846, slightly trimmed treble to avoid sibilance, very good quality bass, lush mid. So I asked for an 846 to compare, and indeed they sound very similar tonal wise. But the Oriolus has a much bigger soundstage, and sharper imaging. All in all, it's an 846 on steroid!!!

Hmmm, interesting (I liked the SE846 when I heard it some weeks ago on my DX90)...thanks for sharing!

Does anybody have an idea what kinda cable it comes with (plain copper / a hybrid / pure gold

)?
It looks pretty awesome in the picture for a stock cable anyway...

A friend of mine who heard it said the coherency of them made him forget that this is a hybrid IEM. That is some high praise from him.

It looked to me like a copper cable, in fact the full, weighty sound also suggested its copper cable.

I found it more coherent than 846. I had the 846 for half year, but found the bass to be too "intentional" and hit too hard, and sold I it. The Oriolus' bass is well integrated into the mid, and the balance is perfect.
