  Have u tried ATH R70x?

Nope, but those have even higher impedance (470 Ohms) than HD6x0, although I don't know if they have spikes in the impedance curve.. But M50X were so poor I'm kinda wary of Audio Technica on the whole (probably unjustified, I know)..

I upgraded from M50x to R70x, very pleased with the sound & comfort compared to M50x

R70x have higher impedance than HD6x0s but not as hard to drive as the HD6x0s.

Driving my R70x with the HA P50, quite acceptable

I was very interested in this unit until I realized that it needs proprietary software to play higher than 16bit/44khz resolution files in PC/Mac as a USB dac...

I run Linux and would vastly prefer asynchronous USB over optical.... this sucks.

No, it is not required a proprietary software, it is needed a software for Android to use the max possibilities of an USB DAC (like all the others), for IOS is about the same (it works also with other softwares, like HibyMusic) and it does not need the camera adapter, for WIN it works at 100% without other needs. I do not know about Linux

Mine works perfectly fine without any software installations either Ubuntu 16 or Windows 10

Plug and play on iPhone 6/6S/7 without any apps or tweaks required.

The power trick works with my Lenovo P8 and LG X Power. In my case, though, I bought another short micro-b cable and broke the power pin off of the A plug rather than tape up the pin.
I also scored an optical cable with a mini end and now enjoy my P50 with my PS4 as well.

Hi folks,
Just got the Teac HA-P50SE/R. Hooked it up to my laptop, Tidal and Beyerdynamic T5P Gen 2. Sounds great. Fantastic pairing. Couldn't be happier.

Hi folks,
I just got the Teac HA-P50SE Red, and plugged it into my laptop using the mini-usb connection. Toggled the input switch to the middle (for mini-usb) but all it does plugged into my laptop is charge. I charged the unit fully before plugging it into the laptop. Windows does not recoginze it in the sound settings. It doesn't show the Teac. Help. Thank you!

PS: I hear a popping sound in my headphones when I turn off the DAC while my headphones are plugged in. It's a very quiet unit otherwise but powering off doesn't sound too good. I just unplug the headphones before I power off.
You must select the teacher as your audio device. You do this in the settings.

Thanks for the response! I updated the post as it was the USB cable that was the culprit. I guess I had one that was faulty. Tried a different cable and it worked. It sounds great. Especially with the Beyerdynamic T5P Gen 2

Can the teac drive the sennheiser 800s?
