Just got this up on to YouTube.  Stay Tuned for my impressions and pictures.  I am burning them in right now, but so far I am VERY impressed by the sound.

I hate coiled cords, and kind of disappointing it doesn't come with a short cord like the Z1000. for me the Z1000 is the better buy all round plus they should sound the same. Surprising many don't seem impressed with the Z1000's but think it's mainly as they are new just wait a few months and people will be all over them I reckon.

I think people aren't feeling for the Z1000 because they can't buy one in the U.S. yet. To me, these MDR-7520 sounds great fresh out of the box.

Just a note about something I don't like, is that the Sony labels on the cups could easily get scratched and I'm extra vigilant when using them outdoors. I really do like the mirror gloss finish but I think it's just crying out to get wrecked and I'd be terribly upset it happened to mine...

Yeah, I think the cups will get banged up pretty quick.

Next time I'm in the city, I'll have to see if there is a demo model in the electronics stores. The Z1000s were for me the worst-sounding (for frequency response) high-quality headphones I've ever tried.

Europe is waiting for review and comparison between the Z1000 and MDR-7520.

I have MDR-7509HD - can You define differences in the sound between 7509HD and 7520?

They sure look like copies of Z1000. I like the design of it, it speaks practical design/functionality over fashion, not to say it's ugly or so but it sure ain't trying to look fancy at all and that's what makes it so beautiful IMO. :p

The Z1000 and 7520 shouldn't sound different, I believe the different name was given because these are solely for professional use and comes with a coiled cord as standard.

I don't have a MDR-7509. I have the MDR-7506 which is not in the same league. I may get the MDR-7509HD since I'm a Sony fanboy.
