Not sure if this has been posted already but Shure have unveiled their high end replacement for the SE530.

The SE420 are also getting replaced by the SE425.

The SE535 is supposed to have removable cables as an obvious improvement from the SE530 and the author notes a slight improvement in the treble. Hopefully this should address the primary issue of treble roll-off with the SE530.

Great news!

We have to wait until mid 2010 for them though

The replaceable cable is excellent but the reviewer suggests they sound almost the same as the se530. I was hoping for better highs too.

It is a step on the right direction, but I do hope to see a brand new flagship from Shure. Given that SE530 is the first universal 3 driver in the market launched over 2 years ago, and begin to show sign of aging in front of its competitors lately, it is really the time for Shure sets a new, higher standard for themselves.

yeah, seems like the circuitry inside is all the same. the upgrades are the removable wire and the tweaked fit/shape. i guess that's why it's only the se535 (as opposed to a new model like se630).

I'm totally loving the clear look. I love the way the UM3x looks in my ears, it almost feels like I'm downgrading when I use different phones that have a more "earbud" look to them.
