New Flagship from Audio-Technica: ATH-W3000ANV, 50th Anniversary Headphones

I think the 3000ANV is actually very portable - it is closed, light, can be driven decently by a portable rig, and looks good. On subwoofers - try using the SVS PC13 Ultra which I have for my home theatre...

There's something about the W3000ANV that stimulates the "affection" gland...my review just posted on AvGuide's Playback section

Very well written review! I don't always put much stock to online/mag reviews, but you really nailed this one out of the park. Everything you said echos my sentiments exactly. You were even honest about them not being neutral and perhaps not for everyone. I'm wondering how many hours yours were burned in because out of the box, they don't have the bass response you wrote about. They could be even considered a little bass lite out of the box, but after burn in, the bass does fill in nicely and becomes very well balanced with the rest of the frequency spectrum. Well done.

Yeah, actually reading all this thread that was one of my worries, the bass.  I am by no means a basshead, i enjoy both my HD800 and my DX1000 but i prefer some.....closer to the DX1000 maybe.
My other question is, i have not heard any talk about the fit.  Maybe i missed it.  Never even tried on an AT except my two AT portables.....?  Bend frame huh......scary.

Guess i'll see tomorrow when they arrive.

Fit will depend on your head shape and size.  They do not have the greatest clamping, especially compared to Sennheisers.  If your head is a bit narrow or small in general, they may not fit super snugly.

I don't find the bass to be as strong as you did, Steven, but I agree the review was excellent.
