Seeing such nice headphones scratched, even if its not your own, will make you feel really bad...

Hey Daigo. Do you use the W3000ANV to play Street Fighter IV?

Hah, I'm pretty mediocre at Street Fighter IV, but that was where I picked up my nick from when my other usual nick wasn't available.  I do use the W3000ANV to play games on my computer, currently Diablo 3.

Regardless if I was trying to sell them or not. I still wouldn't leave them out of the original box :). Much safer that way IMO. They are collectors items after all.

I keep mine in the original box only and the only other person who has had them on their head is my 17 year old daughter who was right next to me listening to a soundboard copy of the String Cheese Incident concert we say together about two weeks ago.  That was the first other and it was just now.  No scratches yet-knock on wood....

Well i got a very small piece of wood chipped from the edge of me W1000x, a small dent and a scratch on the metal ring were enough for me to use it as full-time portable headphone XD. Getting a 2nd pair for display soon...but not after I get others ATH headphones 1st. I leave the 2nd w1000x till the very last unless they going to discontinue it :). This is why I am going to be extra extra cautious on my W3000ANV and any wood or aluminium headphones in the future.

You know what I mean . Those large portable rigs consisting of an ipod, a separate amp, a separate dac, a battery power supply, and cables costing more than the pieces of equipment = bomb .

I moved my audio rig away from the computer room a few months ago. Since then my only source has been my cd players. The problem is that I have a huge iTunes library. Apple TV to the rescue. I'm currently listening to some of my favourite tracks with my W3000ANVs. These are definitely keepers for me. I understand why others wouldn't enjoy them as much as me. The new toy syndrome should have worn off by now too. With that in mind, I'm going to buy my back up next week. Stock levels have remained high in Australia.

Dead Can Dance = :D

What's next for me? I will have to get a back up HD800 but they aren't getting culled any time soon. I might get a bamboo LCD-2. Metrum Octave is a must when stock levels pick up. NAD M51 looks juicy. Then I'll get a high end tube amp to compliment my current SS line up (ECBA, P/V, WA5LE, Stratus). Then I think I'm done :S. It's a weird feeling when you can see the end. I remember having pages of things to buy....

Momiji, next week im going to purchase an ATH can from Topbuy.com.au , their prices are much cheaper than ATA and on par with the prices in the US. Here in Australia, we are being charged/ripped off too much. Shipping from these guys would be longer but I will tell the feed back once I get it

Seems like you already own both AD1000 and AD2000, then I properly go for A2000X. I can get the AD2000 later on, this way there will be a variety of ATH cans to compare around :) .

I really like the AD2000. Never heard the A2000X. Apparently it's a bit odd but all AT phones can be described as odd.

The A2000X is the flattest sounding can from ATH.

It is not odd sounding but it is the odd one out from ATH's line-up since it is the least colored.
