What should impressions cost? Also, is there a specific type of impression needed or is the same method employed among all audiologists?

it depends where you live. But it's a crucial question that you find a good and pro audiologist to do it. Good impressions in EU cost around 30-50 euro, and they are done by silicone guns (much better than with seringues), and you have to be careful that they are deep enough. Depending where you live i can give you some adresses
