Well I am intrigued. I ran across a pair of what i think my be electrets, but were advertised as Electrostatic Condenser Headphones. The reason I think they may be electrets is the plug end. From electrets I have run across so far , that I have seen and own, this style of connector with the metal collar around the prongs seems to fit the electret bill, with the exception of my Stax SR-50 that uses the typical exposed prongs for the Stax adapters obviously.
As you can see these have 5 prongs. I realize there were a ton of different makers, mostly oem'd from a few main companies, so there are obviously ones with connectors that deviate.
Any idea what these are? I am thinking the middle prong could be modded out of the picture to fit my AudioTechnica Adapter, but i wouldn't want to mess something up. Probably meant for some odd one-off type of adapter they came with. Here's a couple of pics of the housing back as well. That may provide far more ID value than the rest. Who OEM'd these?
Really curious about things like this. Hope we can figure it out.
Pretty slick looking imho. I'm a sucker for chrome.
