   I just recently made this account.  It's a little last minute but I think I will try to attend this meet.  For anyone who was at the meet last spring, I'm the newbie that showed up with Sennheiser HD650's looking to listen to some other phones and compare.  Anyways,  I will bring my ZMF Blackwoods this time. Looking forward to it!

I'll try to remember to bring some of those old silver discs with me... Most of the stuff I have left after getting almost everything stolen a few years ago is obscure metal albums or something that is probably roughly equal in appeal for most people, so I doubt anybody else would enjoy 'em, but hey!

No worries on the hiatus or the K7XX... Given that you got that at a previous meet, I'm kinda glad SWMBO is keeping it in the family . 
 
Hadn't heard of the UpTone or the MSR7, so that'll be cool to check out! There was a thread where a guy did a pretty in-depth comparison of a number of different USB reclockers/regenerators on Computer Audiophile a while back, and I've had at least a passing interest in them since.

See, this is where you're a stronger, better human being than I am. I got interested in something like the Wyrd a while back, and did an absurd amount of reading and lurking on various websites, and eventually caught myself thinking something along the lines of 'well, if I don't go with the full Offramp with upgrades and separate power supply, then what's the point?' And then I smacked myself. 
 
You have an ability to restrain yourself that I find admirable and unattainable, sir. Everything I do ends up 80 miles past the border of Absurdistan, and I'm thinking about selling body parts for something insane and unnecessary. Sigh.

Although yeah, by whatever means necessary-- the Ether C is flat-out LEGIT. Have you seen Tyll's video review on them yet? He's not one to gush (a certain Ultrasone review comes to mind), but he sure can't seem to help it here. Just a fantastic headphone, full-stop.

I am really looking forward to hearing it and comparing it to some of the Cavalli high end amps.

 
That's awesome!! Given my rather Loch-Ness-Monster-y attendance patterns on HF, I have to admit I was unfamiliar with them. Just did a bit of Googling about, and that sucker looks REALLY interesting!! Thanks for making that happen, Kevin!!

Yassir! Cool Springs Brewery starting at 5:30pm, and ending when the adjacent tables hear the phrase "treble articulation" enough for them to actually complain to the restaurant's management.

I've stayed at some pretty awful places over the years. On a work trip in North Carolina once, our entire group (of maybe 30-40 people staying at that one hotel) had to cancel and go somewhere else when two rooms had bloodstains on the carpet. Not kidding. And the last place (in the US) I booked with my dad, there was a massive, gaping hole in the backside of the door to the bathroom (where someone, I assume, attempted to kick their way through the door) that was halfassedly plastered at the bottom, making it actually look even worse. So when I get to stay at The Royal Sonesta in New Orleans (or some of the swanky places my company used to get us for leadership conferences), I find myself very appreciative of their charms, and lack of apparent murder-scene accoutrements. 
 
And a quick update for everyone from Woo Audio: they are going to be sending the new second-generation WA7 (already en route) and the brand-new WA8 Eclipse!! I've gotta say, these guys sure have always been absolutely stellar to deal with, and have really gone out of there way to support us-- if you get a chance, please give these suckers a listen! (If you can drag me away from them, of course).
 
One more quick thing: I fat-fingered the time on the front page as 11-6, when it should've been 11-5, so I've updated it now.  Hope this doesn't cause anybody any headaches!! :s

And I am selling the Modi (not Magni). The O2 is fine. I am selling the Modi because the Denon DA-500 is that dang good. This mid-90's DAC is vastly superior to any decoder I've ever owned. There are others that are better (Yggy for one), but this box kicks, espcially for what I paid for it.

Haha, I have been asked that a few times (I have this handle on a few sites).  It's not about much really.  The Ocelot part comes from a character named Revolver Ocelot in the game Metal Gear Solid.  I don't know about the Fake part, I guess I just thought it sounded cool and went with it.  I'm not the real Revolver Ocelot so it works I guess.  I am also a fan of the show Archer though it didn't factor into the name.
