Wait a sec, you modded the earpads? Like, the wooden casing? A more detailed description would be much much appreciated

No, modded the internal wiring to the driver.  My logic is, if you are paying extra $ for aftermarket cable, why do it half way, when the final stretch of default cable is from the jack to the driver itself is still the crappy cable?  So in my case, I've upgraded it with PlusAudio's silver cable with audio grade solder.  If you want to go the easy and cheap route with aftermarket cable you can consider this method: http://www.doublehelixcables.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=205  
I don't like the idea of plastic and foam so went custom route.

I broke down and ordered a pair of the legendary Meze 99 Classics. I could not say no to the price. The Meze will compliment my other portable cans. I am stoked up and can not wait for them to arrive. I will mostly use my Questyle QP1R to drive the Meze cans.:)
