I am glad you got that all figured out. However I would recommend you format the card and reload the music (since you already made a copy of the library) to avoid any future frustrations. If the database was corrupt, chances are there are still some bad sectors. Eight hours of file transfer could save you a lot of trouble later on.

With the firmware update, the most noticeable difference would be the scroll wheel response and accuracy. 1 click on the wheel = 1 movement on the screen. 

And I think X5ii's latest firmware also allows you to perform searches.

Great point, I wanted to put that off out of laziness but you're right. I just reformatted both cards and I have the files transferring back over now as I go to bed. No big annoyance.

Great to hear, I'm excited to use it. Especially the search function, that's huge!
