Killer Be Killed. Sepultura/Dillinger Escape Plan/Mastodon/Mars Volta-supergroup. Any thoughts?

I'm a bit conflicted. There are definite moments of brilliance, but in large parts it also sounds a bit, samey? Déjà entendu?

There's never been a supergroup that's totally delivered....I like it though, there's no bad songs and it's fun to hear all the separate influences. Not album of the year but totally solid release IMO

I couldn't handle it for more than a few minutes. Too poppy.

I don't like it. It feels like Shadows Fall is making out with Killswitch Engage.

Why do metal bands print lyrics in liner notes that are impossible to read? I think this is unique to metal.

Black Metal? I get...it's a whole mystique...silly runes looking fonts that are supposed to give you that scarry vibe-forbidden mystical knowledge only ascertainable by the few who dare to study mysterious ancient black arts. Or Gorgoroth, etc. who don't print lyrics because the lyrics are so radical, so shocking, so powerful, earth mortals just couldn't handle the truth. Or, they're just to stupid to publish.

But, why-Ok- for example....I'm driving listening to Goat Whore's Blood for the Master-I listen a lot in my car....the kind of extreme metal I really like-blackened DM thrash...whatever genre you want and I'm at a light, and I can kind of half make out the lyrics. But, I want to know what's really being expressed.

I decide to take out the lyric sheet from the CD case, because, I don't know? Sometimes I like to know what is being said! It can make the music more memorable. I look at the lyrics and there is no way anyone could make out the lyrics without magnification. Take a look and tell me if you can make out anything. Maybe you have better eyes than me.

Oh, I know. Go to Darklyrics.com or some such place. But, I'm in my car...not driving...long stoplight-just want to follow along for a moment. No reasonable human way to read them. May as well, print random names from the white pages.

What's the point?!

OK-I'm off my soapbox

Then we got an announcement for the new Sons of Aurelius CD. They are a band that I always thought wasn't half bad but never did anything for me though, but this new song...shows a ton of potential

That was good, thanks. Never heard of them before.
