I'm looking for an amp/dac combo that would bring out the best in the HD 650. I loved the LCD2 sound, it seemed like a super powered hd 650. However I just couldn't stand the weight. What will give me those crystal clear mids, and tight bass with weight to it that the LCD 2 had? Budget is 1500ish. Does anyone know if they plan on making a lighter version of any of the LCD line?

Even the best amp won't do that... You could EQ but still... post your question in the following threads anyway:
 
Why here? because some of the lcd-2 owners probably have/had the hd650 as well.

Also Fostex Th900, it's expensive but it's easy to drive and very light.
