Hello, just purchased the 700 along with a koss porta pro from amazon.com. It appears that there is a problem with the 3.5mm plug...it will not maintain a solid contact in either an ipod,ipad or through the 1/4' adapter for use with pioneer receiver.No problems with porta pro at all. Under magnification comparing the two the plug tips are slightly different. Anyone else have this issue?

Sounds like a manufacturing error. Happens sometimes. Send them back as defective and get another pair.

Plug it in something else. You may have a dirty iPod jack. Try it with your computer.

3 devices all yielded the same result. Safe to say it's the plug.

the 3.5mm or the quarter inch adapter?
 
RMA it and get an exchange then, it could be wiring or what not but if other devices yield same problem. Exchange it.

Back to amazon they go...these are great sounding cans and match up very well with my pioneer vsx821k a/v... I'm worried that if I get another pair I will get same problem...can't believe there aren't more than one made with this problem?

It's rare but it happens. I wouldn't worry.
