I've seen the trend with other websites that start out humbly enough discussing equipment that ordinary consumers can afford to to buy and use. Slowly the needlessly expensive gear starts to creep in and then the sites become a joke, a parody of themselves. They tell the readers that ear buds costing thousands are reasonable and implying that less affluent readers are missing the boat because they don't have the money to invest in such absurdly overpriced bits of wire and plastic. I'm no one's daddy, I don't care how you spend your money. If you've got it to throw away, there will always be someone to catch it. But where is the breaking point? I'm not going to be surprised when I read about some chump having devices implanted in their brains and receiving wireless transmission to achieve the 'ulitimate' in headphone fidelity. This not sour grapes, I imagine there are others who believe that 10s of thousands of dollars is absurdly expensive for a set of cans and an amp.
