That's very strange. Maybe burn-in will help, but who knows. I had the HD-650 for quite awhile and always felt they had too much bass for me. Even with neutral amps and different types of cables. Is it possible that the PA2V2 adds a little extra bass? I doubt this is the case unless you can test it with another amp or even a receiver.
I always felt my DJ100 was a step under being bass heavy. Just where I like it. More than the SRH-840, but less than the M50, HD-650 and HFI-680 for sure to my ears.
It's funny because there is actually people out there who say the DJ100 is too bass light and I never understood this
Could be some weird variations between pairs or something.
If any part of it's signature was forward on my pairs, it was the upper mids and then slightly more bass than what would be in a fairly neutral headphone.
I'd be curious if you find anything out or it changes with burn-in.
Strangely I had a K240 Studio that had bloated bass out of the box and was nearly bass heavy. These days after thousands of hours of use, there is no way I could call them anything close to that. So my guess is that the DJ100 needs a few hours of more burn-in. It's possible, but maybe not.
