I like the beyer pads used on the 770's and would like to use them on my akg271's. I like having minimal contact w/ my ears and the headphone. Has anyone done this? If so, what were the steps to make it work, and how were the results? I'd like to hear experience before I buy the pads and attempt the install.

Thanks!

The Beyer DT770 pads are a direct replacement for the K240S, since the K271 is a similar size my guess is it should fit too. The K501 uses a completely different mechanism to secure the pads so Beyer pads would not work. You could possibly cut out a circular piece of cardboard to wrap the pads around and cut four squarish slots in it that the plastic retainers could slip into.

I'm guessing you can get them from Beyer? I just took delivery of my K240S's a few hours ago, and these pleather pads have to go. They make my ears sweat after an hour of use already. Plus, I want to dye the Beyer pads black

jeeebus.. thats a lot for pads.. *sigh. The 271's slide overtop... so u can rotate the pads freely. Do the 240's do this as well?

the k271s and k240s use the same pad, it's a shame the beyer pads costs so much. i dont mind the fact the k240s pads are pleather, but theyve gone a bit hard on my cans. it's just a minor annoyance. id really like akg to come out with a higher end open can using the k240s/k271s setup, it's the most comfortable can i've come across so far.

I've seen those pleather pads crack and flake apart after awhile, which is what I'm worried about :p

$35 does seem like a lot for pads, but if you wear your AKG's a lot, or plan on keeping them a while, it's probably worth it. Right now, I'm trying to decide if it's worth it for me

Oof.. $35 for replacement dt770 pads... I do plan on keeping these k271s for a while and while pleather is comfy, the velours are more comfortable in my book...

Anyone have any idea on which order number we'd have to order?
