I purchased my IEM cable from a known aftermarket cable maker.   I specified Balanced for my Plenue S.  I tried this cable in my IPhone and Fiio X-5 II and both function.  The Plenue S is Bal/Auto and of course works.  I am a bit concerned that I did not receive a balanced cable.  Any thoughts.
 
How can I tell if it is indeed balanced ?

A stereo balanced cable would have 4 conductors and maybe a shield.
Each connector would have 4 or 5 terminals. With XLR connectors, the shell can act as the shield terminal.
