One reason I like expensive cables is they tend to be tangle free and coil easily when not in use. The most expensive one I've bought is $300 (another more expensive one came with an iem) and it's just nice to handle, very supple.
Same here. The most expensive cable I have is 350 usd which is the ea code 23. But it's quite thick and heavy and makes the Enigma fall out.
But there is a significant sound improvement.

Looking at some of the very expensive (bulky) cables my first thought is - how isn't the iem pulled out by the weight?

I've been doing some electronic music listening on Qobuz.
The Impact - Cerrone
Bride of deluxe - Cliff Martinez
The Avalon sounds amazing. Much better than the Seraph.
The balance of everything sounds perfect in Avalon.
Some one here described the Avalon sound as orchestral. I completely agree.
Any one here thinks the same ?

I agree. In my experience, Avalon on 4,4 balanced out of OG M11 (AK chips) is perfection with electronica. The closest to being in real club.
Titan tries to extent that auditory phenomenology but while it is more detailed, I will dare say that, it loses some of that smooth analogical feeling of Avalon (the Magnificent)...

No, these have a similar BC Bass driver to the Plutus.
Completely different beast.
Bass rumbles your mastoid..
On the other hand the closest to Plutus Bass from IEMs I own is indeed MEXT's. But it is also different, in the sense of where is the rumbling felt bodily.
Plutus Bass vibrations resonate in the cranial base, inside and below the inner ear so to speak. MEXT Bass vibrations resonate in the inner ear but felt more inside the skull.
I don't know if that's a frequency focus issue or because of actual conduction waves at certain frequencies passing though different anatomical structures. I believe it's the second.
Notice that what I speak of here is NOT how the still powerful bass of IMR IEMs is experienced. This is something different qualitatively.
This is why, it really got me interested about the DD based BC drivers used lately by some.
And also IMR, in DM and in NaLe presumably.
Do NaLe owners have a similar experience to what I describe?

You are absolutely correct with this observation.
Enigma is too perfect .Electronica is also amazing with it.
But Avalon with its imperfections is just right.

Sure, Avalon sounds spectacular with dx320max, smooth and analog with the stage on top tier level, super big and realistic, but not in expense of emotions and bass textures.

Also, effect audio ares (4wire) works well with Avalon by accentuating treble a bit more than stock.
