The RE-400 shouldn't protrude further due to its housing size...  It depends on how flush the TDK will end up fitting I guess.  The TDK might work for larger ears I guess.

  any more input on some good iems with good isolation? Still in the ~150 range looking at shure se215k right now but not sure on them, looking for something on the low end of audiphile/ higher end of normal listening

Not sure why forum members are not mentioning these... people give out responses like re-400 lol the housing sticks out on those and plus its neutral sound signature will get drowned out by loud motorcycle/environment noises due to its average isolation. Shure rates all its SE models at -37db of isolation, honestly it feels like I'm wearing noise cancelling earphones without that annoying high pitched frequency from ANC units. I have personally yet to hear a unit that isolate better than my se425s.

They don't protrude if you wear them out. Wind noise will get rid of bass and treble of any IEM.

Now were talking, these are the type of responses Im looking for. @tomscy2000im going to use these for other daily use as well but also need them to be usable for the bike but thats not the main purpose of them. As far as the helmet goes im not too worried about them sticking out too far, i have a large opening for my ear where it can fit nicely.

Ok so I bought a pair of the Astrotec AX60 from forum member Welh and theyr just what I was looking for. Came with a bunch of tip and found two sets that are great for isolation on the bike. They are loud enough but Im still going to build an O2 amp for fun
