In our opinion, the existing Smartphone is actually more dynamic and more advanced than many dedicated Digital Audio Players (DAPs).
 
In the last two days, Onkyo Hi-Res Player and KaiserTone have both announced updates – and they are neat ones at that.
 
Here is a brief summary.
 
Onkyo HF Player (v2.0.0)

 
1.  Support for iOS 8 and 64-Bit devices.
2. Support of transfer files from AirDrop
3. Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE required)
4. Support for 11.2 MHz DoP output (DSD 256 yay!)
5.Support for 3MHz/6MHz DSD > PCM conversion and DoP Output
 
Note: IPhone 5S or later required for 11.2MHz DSD.

On SmartPhone - most portable NAS require their own app to access - in which case you are tied to the default player such as iTunes for example.
 
But on PC - you go through the browser and can setup a direct link such as through JRMC.
 
This is a simple summary but things are changing all the time and we are constantly monitoring/testing these devices.
 
If you guys like, if we find a really good one that tiicks all the boxes, we'll let you guys on this forum know.

Is there any blinking check of the LED during start?
eg: 
1 blinking on start - 10% batterypower
2 blinking on start - 20% batterypower
3 blinking on start - 30% batterypower

HE-6 is ~10 mins
IEMS is ~30 mins
 
Approximate as will vary - so just use as an approximate gauge.

My intention is to get a battery status 50%, 80%,... to know, if the unit will hold on for some hours.
If it starts blinking red, it already a fuel empty condition.
 
Using a car with no fuel instrument it would be funny, only having a red light (5% left).
I hope, i can transport my idea in getting a battery status feedback - when powering on the unit, and blinking in 10% steps to get the battery-condition

We have passed your suggestion onto R&D to note for the future - they said that battery status for LiPo is not a straightforward task.
 
At any extent, it is recommended that the battery is always charged to 100%. This ensures the max battery life.
