Why is it every non-marketing picture of the DX100 that I see has the unit soaked dust, lint, crumbs, etc. Is it from the packaging? Or is the DX100 really just one big dust magnet?

That isn't dust or crumbs...that is the sandblasted appearance of the metal housing. Lighting for photos accentuates that type of surface.

I disagree; keep the pics, vids, reviews & impressions coming. And the instructions manual availability on-line is going to be great too to help get through the waiting time indeed.

Specifically, that mottled silvery-black appearance is how magnesium looks.

Not dynamic enough? That's complete garbage.  If it compares favorably to a Beta22 in overall feel, that's a good thing.  It's neutral and does nothing to offend the ears, and it has a ludicrous amount of power for its size...hell, it may be the best amp section in any iBasso product to date, or any portable anything, short of those crazy Triad amps.

Yet more hyperbole. Can't you just enjoy that you have a good DAP without making these wild, open-ended comparisons?

(The DX100 amp is pretty good but I thought that the Stepdance amplifying the DX100 line out was materially better on a direct comparison. Just one person's opinion - limited to a direct comparison of two products. Edit: driving the Westone ES5)

That went pretty fast. As much as I enjoy the DX100, I look forward to others receiving one and enjoying the music.

That is certainly encouraging and perhaps will motivate iBasso to work harder on enriching the firmware or give in to more of our feature requests

You know you won't get such things here...

Sad but true. Not an impossible idea though as the DX100 is iBasso's first DAP and its still in the early stages of its life on the market.
