figgie, I vote for 1.2.3 simply because I experience less crashes and stupid bugs like chipmunks whilst using 1.2.3.

With 1.1.7 I kept getting crashes and freezes and all these other stupid bugs. If you can make 1.2.3 sound like 1.1.7 I'd be a happy, happy man.

Thank you again for your work.

People, start emailing iBasso en masse. Maybe we can get some action happening here.

Email sent. Strangely enough I don't experience those chipmunk issues on my player on 1.1.7. Actually I've never had it happen to me, except on older firmwares and when messing with the SRC feature. I just leave it on native play to avoid any issues. 1.2.3 also seems slower for me. Loading times were longer and the screen movement wasn't as smooth as on 1.1.7. Pretty much my main issues are (1. fade in), (2. album art not showing up on 1.1.7) and (3. playlists showing up in the order they are synced). This should not matter and the DX100 should be able to organize everything alphabetically.

My Email to them. : Hello ibasso I am lee730 from headfi. I am contacting you in hopes to getting the DX100 up to par. The UI is not acceptable and it has been more than enough time to get these things sorted out. It seems you guys are having a hard time doing this. Headfier figgie seems very competent and I believe he can get your product fully functioning properly. Please contact him and make some sort of arrangement and accommodate him. So he can help you and all owners of the DX100. Hifimans 901 is right around the corner and your player is not acceptable period. Hifiman plans on being fully functioning out the door. This will doom your product if you don't play your cards right and fix what needs to be fixed.

I find 1.2.3 to be more responsive in general. I always leave src on native play and I'd still get chipmunks and hang ups. 1.2.3 just works for me. What would happen to rozecloud would happen to me on a somewhat regular basis. I got tired of it fast. Thats why i didnt revert back to 1.1.7. It sounded the same from memory so i wasn't fussed.

I noticed gapless wasn't working properly on Figgies build yesterday, but I haven't had the chance to do an A/B comparison it with the stock player yet.

Another 1.2.3 user. TBH, I don't find any problem in the UI in either 1.1.7 and 1.2.3. The reason why I keep 1.2.3 is the ability to show artwork, and I am too tired to switch between firmware and wait for the re-indexing of files, which took loooooooong time to complete

For the sound, as I recall, 1.1.7 sounds best when EQ is off, 1.2.3 sounds best when EQ is on and set to all 0.

Yeah it did take some time to get everything showing up. Maybe 15 to 20 minutes letting it fully load. Of course it's irritating to have to go through that and if you have to clear the player and storage data it's all in vain.... figgie you can do it, we believe in you!.

Lee, people have been posting some early impressions on the new 901 DAP. From what I understand is 901 sounds more balanced with the hifiman “warm” house sound. The treble is more extended for sure, the resolution is higher. It still has the mids as close as the 801's (bt slightly more neutral). The bass is more controlled (so it won't satisfy bass heads).

From the impressions, I doubt 901 is gonna sound the similar to dx100. So in terms of brightness it's probably gonna be 801<901<dx100 which could be what I love! But these are just from hifiman fans, so still need to comfirm myself. :p If the impressions were accurate, I might have to keep both 901 and DX100.

Artwork in general or just on FLACs? I can see all the artwork on my lossy files fine (it's embedded).

192GB on a DX100.  I wanted to get my entire library on the DX100 WITHOUT using an OTG cable.  Here's how I did it.

Can't you secure your adapter setup in between your amp and the DX100?  This would make it (almost) invisible and protected.

From what I can guess :

LI-Po battery, 2000mAh 3.7V, given for 16 hours of run time with 16bits/44.1kHz FLAC. Battery doesn't seem user serviceable, but the pics show screws, so it should be possible to open it fairly easily.

Dimensions and weight 59.2mm X 79mm X 14.4mm, 122g.

2.4" IPS screen

The overall design is very close to the H1X0/H3X0 series.

I am beginning to lose my patience as well.  The DX100 is just not responsive enough and seems to flub album art and tags in mp3's that no other program or device has trouble reading.  I also don't understand why so many DX100 owners have such differing experiences.  It's almost like there are additional variables going on inside the DX100 that none of us understand....

I have to confirm with you on that...
