For myself the DX100 singled ended is the equal to the SR-71B balanced with my HD25-1, DT1350 and Westone 4r.  Not much does the SR-71B add to the sound in my opinion except maybe making the sound darker (polite for slower/slightly muddy).  
 
The SR-71B added much better soundstage/imaging to the headphones when using my HP-P1 when I had it. This is also when being used with the iBasso DB2 in the configuration.  It was nice using it with the slightly bright DT1350 balanced before but as I am saying now with the DX100 doing its thing so well I do not need the iBasso DB2 and SR-71B in the mix. 
 
Hence, the reason why I am so interested in how the new ALO amp sounds balanced not just single ended?

I can partially agree with you slwiser....for me the DX100/JH13 combo is a winner and the SR71B and DB-1 that I own add nothing.  However with my Grados, they sound much better to me when I add the extra components to the DX100.  I've mentioned it before, but I feel the internal amp, even though better than any other portable players' I've seen, is still the limiting factor for the DX100.

I believe that it is a matter of synergy more than anything else. I can't see the additional amps adding anything but just taking things away =)

It may also be the difference between balanced and unbalanced.  Some headphones are improved in balanced operation.  The DX100 can't do that alone.

To my ear, the HD650's are meant to be balanced. They are more dynamic, open and transparent. I need to break them out and try them with the DX source into the 71b and PB2.

Owning the 2 T51 for some time, and having learned all its quirks, I can tell you its a fantastic piece of DAP with its  inexpensive price and SQ, but its not a DX100 my friend.
Maybe I know the T51 better than anyone in this thread, and love it and still listens to it with my TTVJslim (just to change), it's less powerful, less colored than the DX100, and it will be better to elaborate as suggested by Hiflight, as we can always learn

It has been posted a number of times that 64gb cards are being used. I use them with no problem at all.

Did I read that right?  You find the T51 more neutral than the DX100?  I agree if that's the case but it's been mentioned I didn't have the DX100 run in long enough.  Might or might not be the case, I'll find out later on.
