I could not STAND the curiosity and ordered the Denon D5000's.
Do you think I'm going to be disappointed or will the improvements be very apparent? Money is not a huge issue to me as while classy headphones are a luxury, in a few months I won't notice the extra $200 out of my wallet.

I use the usb dac from the Corda 2Move.

I did the same thing - curiousity is a killer. Never went through the "boomy bass" thing, and haven't modded them. There is nothing the D2000s do that the D5000s can't do better, imo. But not by a huge margin. I use the D2000s with my main system, and the D5000s in the bedroom. The D5000s are going through a Gilmore Lite, and the D2000s, for now, are going through a Practical Devices XM3. Both with wonderful results. I won't part with either headphone. Enjoy.

Supposedly the d2000 and d5000 use the same drivers, but a lot of people say the d5000 are definitely an improvement over the d2000, most likely due to the use of wood. You probably will not experience a dramatic increase in Sound Quality, but a minor one at least. I would be quite satisfied with the purchase, but you already bought the d2000's, so what I suggest you do is put the d2000's for sale and enjoy the d5000's.

Since as you put it, money isn't an issue(Lucky you), why waste your time with the D5000 and instead get the D7000? At least they have updated drivers.

olblueyez, firstly you made no reference to the post your responding to and then when that's done you respond to the posters(Enthusia) objective reasoning on why he would buy the d2000 phones. He made his post in the hypothetical. You do not respond to these. I'm not flaming you so don't feel attacked.

Im going to explain this so a anyone can understand. If he buys the D5000 it will sound great and the ONLY regret he will have is the purchase of the D2000. Enthusia's suggestion that I referenced is to sell the D2000 headphones, his statement supports my comment about regretting the D2000. Can you show me where anyone else or myself recommended buying the D2000?

I think you should use the quote option here. What probably happened is you started to post and two or more people placed their posts first. You can see where your post had no point of reference. I see where or what you meant although I am sure you can see my point of view as well. Friends again.
