So, I've already tried a whole bunch of configurations, but for some reason the only configuration that has full audio seems to be connecting the Ground to either the left or right channel, and having the other two on the opposite channel to that. Why? I'm not sure what is going on at all. Here are some diagrams of what I've tried so far:

So can anybody tell me what I was doing wrong? Maybe I should have mention that the cable that I had soldered on the whole entire time actually had a female 3.5mm end, and then I'd connect it to my amp using a male 3.5mm to male 3.5mm cable.

What are you plugging the subwoofer driver into? I cannot think of anything that is designed to drive a speaker from a 3.5mm jack. "Ground" or the sleeve of the plug in the negative terminal of the driver, you can connect either the left or the right wire to the positive terminal but not both. Connect the left and right together without a summing network will damage the amp. Tying the ground to either channel is short and will destroy the amp.

I already got help in another thread. The discussion happened here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/782549/does-anyone-know-how-to-make-a-bare-speaker-wire-that-terminates-into-a-3-5mm-jack
