Here's the Audeze earpad mod guide:

  1. Take out plastic ring from Audeze earpads
  2. Use adhesive that works on plastic on the logo side of the peelable tape ring
  3. Stick tape ring onto the smooth plastic side of the plastic ring and wait for adhesive to cure
  4. Peel away the cover on the ring tape and align it to the inside the Beyerdynamic earcups
  5. Then place the Audeze earpads over the Beyerdynamic earcups / Plastic ring

Here's the adhesive that was used (although you could use a different one if you choose):
US -         http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PMGAGK
Germany - http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B001PMGAGK

The peelable tape ring comes with the Audeze earpads.

I did a similar mod a few weeks ago with my Denon D5000, in the process of further mods, ive since given it a paint job, and waiting on some wiring and material for further mods and markl mods etc. Will do a thread when I'm done, take a look at the Audeze Pads, they are great pads :

And, you didn't even have to use any adhesive? Bravo! I love seeing these kind of mods. Out of curiosity did you do this mod after you saw mine, or did you do this without any sort of inspiration? Either way it was a really great idea.

No I didn't use any adhesive, and I've never seen your mod before today, was just going through my RSS feeds for Head-Fi and saw your mod.

My denons needed some new pads, and I thought...hmm...wonder if I could use the audeze pads....(I owned a LCD3 so I know the pads are great).
So bought the pads and everything went well. I've since purchased a 2nd pair of pads for my D7000 :D

But I replied here cause I thought it was very cool that we both had the same idea :D

I also bought the beyer headband and added to my denon, so that's the headband seen in the photo.

Beyer headband + Audeze earpads ftw!

I should be done with my 2nd audeze mod in the next couple weeks, ill send you a link to thread when I do.

Good job on your mod thought....great minds think alike :)

I was just thinking the same thing :)

Beyer headband + Audeze earpads ftw!

I agree Beyer headbands are the best, and out of all of their headbands I found these to be the best and most comfortable:
http://www.beyerdynamic.de/shop/hah/spareparts/kopfpolster-5.html and http://www.beyerdynamic.de/shop/hah/spareparts/kopfpolster.html
The page is in German, so you'll have to use Google Chrome and click translate this page. But, they basically are real leather (aviator) headbands used by German pilots. Not sure if you can order them from where you live, so you'd have to email Beyerdynamic if you wanted them.
