Holo Audio Red Streamer

Hello,

I'm having problems connecting HQPlayer to Red OS, and I'm getting some variation of this message appearing over and over again:

Those ASIO outputs are available as choices in HQPlayer desktop client, but the sound doesn't go anywhere. There is no Holo Red recogniseable as an output in the dropdown list. I have tried disabling the windows firewall on private networks and that doesn't seem to make any difference.

I'm not sure what to do, any help appreciated.
What are you running on the red?

Yes I have tried that.
Are their other outputs enabled as well? HQPlayer won't show the NAA output if it doesn't have access to the hardware device. You may also need to have your DAC connected (if using USB) and on the proper input (depending on the DAC), then restart HQPlayer and see if the output shows up.

I've disabled roon's bridge/ready output to the red, and as I'm on Red OS, I only have one option selected at a time. I believe the issue lies somewhere this the NAA daemon, as per my original post, i'm pretty sure I've troubleshooted all the basics.

sorry to ask a noob question

can I use tidal with hqplayer and red

I only use streaming with tidal, so how I can use hqplayer and tidal

I also have a roon account

Helo.

You may.
Tidal works as a service in Roon settings.
Go there and sign in your account.
Files play just as local if HQP is configured in Roon.

Last question before Tubulus Concentus wich cable?
..before I had a "Wireworld Silver Sphere HDMI 2.1 48G DC HDMI-Kabel" (around 230Euro)
In GentooPlayer there is a option for choosing the dac - there you can select i2S

so to be clear:

* you have roon running on a computer
* you have hqplayer desktop running a computer (could be the same one at roon is on)
* you have naa selected on the holo audio red
* you went into hqplayer, selected the network button, selected the holo red as the output device, and put in the modulators and filters you wanted to use
* you went into roon and put in the ip address for hqplayer (local if they're on the same computer)
* you enabled the zone in roon and validated the setting
* you have dsp, etc. turned off in roon

if you're done all that, then you should be good. now . . . what kind of computer is hqplayer running on and what setting did you select?

You have to select the Red in HQPlayer output.

thanks now it worked and everything is fine

can I ask why is there volume control on hqplayer, I dont see an option to have it fixed volume and the volume is controlled via hqplayer

also any filters and modulators are recommended to dial in deaktop hqplayer for best playback

some people use hqplayer as their only software, so they need the volume control. for those that use a volume control on other devices, you should put hqplayer at -3db (or whatever works best in your system).
