Pics for 400 vs 600 as promised:

So it goes. Thanks!

Dead serious, just handheld, is the 600 lighter?
This is for my own sanity so I humbly request your help.

It's the small things that make people happy. Fwiw, I recently took a chance on a ~$300 single BA and consider it to be the best purchase I've made for my preferences in my time here. It's only an incremental and maybe even debatable performance increase over the strong performing $150 IEMs I've had but for me, it's in all the right places. Well, except maybe comfort lol.

If it's absolutely what you wanted, you'll likely forget about the money pretty quickly.

I still have confidence issues with paying more than 300 USD for a single dynamic driver pair of IEMs (imagine how I feel about the IE800).

Eh. The IE800 is nearly class leading in the Universal Section. I'm not concerned.

I think I like the sound signature of the RE600 over most of the $300+ level IEMs I own or demo'ed extensively.Examples are Sony xba4, Tpeos H200, westone um3x, and Shure 535.

I won't say it punch above its price as best results is only obtained with HM901+balanced amp board. But still in SE mode with other players it is as competent or more so than IEM in the same price bracket. Whether you like the sig is more a personal preference.

Ooh, you own both the RE600 and the H-200? :O
How do they stack up against each other? I'm really curious :D

They are on par in terms of technical competency but with very different approach to representing sound. RE600 takes a very neutral and almost clinical approach and giving me a very live like representation especially with well recorded jazz, classical music (like the 1812 Overture by Kunsel with Cincinnati Pops Orchestra). H-200 has a more fun sounding signature and is more tolerant of poorly recorded music and excel with pop or rock. Personally if I can only take one with me on a trip, I would take RE600 as I like it's presentation more.

Are they better than Logitech UE900 for classical or movie music ?  They aren't available from Hifiman website yet.

I think I definitely like the RE600 for classical over UE900.... FWIW I don't really like UE900 as I find it too dark and not transparent.  As such I don't own UE900 and my impression are from a 90 mins or so demo some time ago when it first hit the stores... so take that with a big pinch of salt.

Cheers

Thanks for sharing it. Which one sounds more natural in term of tonal balance and timbre when comes to voice and instruments? When you said clinical you mean more clarity and crisp but still natural?
