Just wanted to share a headband mod.  I brought the suspension strap from here - http://www.head-fi.org/t/729774/suspension-strap-for-mr-speakers-alpha-dog-fostex-t50-rp-etc.  Only using heatshrink to hold it in place.  Feels more comfortable to me as the weight is evenly distributed over my noggin.

I am using the Audeze vegan pads right now. They are attached to the HE-6 using the black ring of the original HE-6 pads and work great. I tried the AD pads but I thought there was no way to place the ring inside them like the Audeze pads because they are smaller in diameter. I will have to double check those.

Thanks for your kind words. I have always tried to be as open and honest as I can in my posts and always tried to remember that the beauty of this hobby is that it is very subjective. We all hear different, have different taste in sound and/or music so my comments are always in base of my personal opinions and preference. I am glad you find them useful.

No, I didn't. I just inserted the HiFiman black rings underneath the lip at the back of the pads. You can use the double sided tape rings that come with the pads if you like but I didn't and works fine.

That's a good idea, I bought the black Audeze vegan pads but still in the box, I am being lazy. :)

I ma not sure but they look like the black Audeze Vegan pads. If they are the cost is $80.

Yes they are the black vegans from audeze

Not a fan of angle pads but Audeze black vegan pads are really good looking, bit pricey but I like it :)

I don't know if there HE-6 owners who can help me with this question.  Given their low sensitivity I have read that some people connect them directly to the speaker sockets on their integrated amplifiers.

I'm contemplating doing this with my amp (a Chord CPM2650), but thought I'd seek advice from this forum first. My amp is rated at 120 Watts rms per channel into 8 ohms (170 Watts rms per channel into 4 ohms).

If I use the HE-6 directly off the 2650 is there a chance I'll blow the headphones up, even if I keep the volume low? I'm concerned that the amp may simply be too powerful.

I have contacted Chord directly to see if they have any advice, but haven't heard back yet.

Any advice is appreciated.

Fellow member and HE-6 owner 'Happy Camper' has some great advice regarding powering up/down and volume control that I tend to follow. Save the occasional

high-speed pass with fav tracks and passages.

At a benched 265wpc into 8 Ohms (Sansui G-22000 is Dual-mono construction), so far so good.
