The HE 500's make music sound lifeless and tedious IMO.
It's amusing watching how defensive everyone gets when someone expresses an opposing view.
The HE 500's are planar magnetics so are inherently "superior" to dynamic drivers in my opinion. I think this is the only advantage the HE 500 has over the HD650.

That is why the HE-500 sounds best being played LOUD, that kinda makes up for it. Not good for hearing, though.
But how do you know which posts are defensive and which are actual unbiased opinions? Or are you labeling everyone who argued against eke2k6 as being defensive by default? Cuz that'd be pretty biased on your part.
It'd be easy to flip the argument and claim that you are being hypocritical.
I don't think I got the best out of my HE500's until I plugged them into my power outlets.
They really made the sirens sound like they were coming from down the street. Incredible sound stage.
That must have been electrifying!
