Anyone know if the 560 sounds better than the 400i. Im really liking the 400i but could always entertain something better?

here is a detailed comparison: http://www.head-fi.org/t/698974/hifiman-he-400i-impressions-and-discussion/1500#post_10838808

whether it is worth it to spend so much more to upgrade would be a personal decision, but I think if you are happy with what you have, you should just stick with it. the sonic improvements as you move up the price ladder get smaller & smaller.

Out of my main rig, the 560 is clearly the superior headphone.

Out of my laptop, with the FiiO E10, and out of my Magni and even out of my HTC One, it's simply no contest: the 400i is the superior headphone in every way. The sensitivity of the 400i, for me, puts it into a different category than the 560.  I hate to write it, but I can see the merits of owning both.  I already have the Alpha Dogs, soon to be Alpha Primes, so I just don't have a 'need' for the 560's.

+1 the HE-400i are sexy beasts, that are amazingly sensitive/ easy to run with my fiio e12..

Anyone have the connector come off on the cable.. had the same issue with my 400

Yes... not on the 400i yet, but on the HE40. Within about a week of owning them. They (Todd the Vinyl Junky) sent me new cables within a few days.
It looks to me like the 400i connectors are attached better. But I always treat them with great care. So far so good.

In general though,  really don't like the connectors that Hifiman uses!

So at first the talk was of the 400i losing the 400's visceral bass when I was looking to buy these which put me off.... But as of late more people saying the low-end is just great. Is this burn-in/correct up-stream synergy or were they just always great from the get-go ? Is it more textured natural low-end than impactful ?

I would say that there is some improvement with 150+, BUT it still does not match the visceral impact of the original 400. It just wasn't tuned or designed to have that kind of sound.  I would agree with swipers though, after the time I've spend with the 400 and 400i I'd pick the 400i every time even with regard to bass response.
