Hiby R3 Pro Portable Bluetooth DAP

I ordered one from MusikTek. Should be here no later than Monday.

I've owned a HiBy R3 since the Kickstarter units shipped. While not the most resolving or neutral sound it sounds great for casual listening on the go. Most of its use has been with LZ-A4 IEM's from the 2.5mm balanced out. My only issue has been battery life. I see an average of 6-7 hours used as stated. Another 3-4 hours would be ideal. Thus the upgrade.

My expectations are resting on improved battery life. Any other improvements will be icing.

I'm going to use my current R3 as transport for my car stereo as it has performed well for this purpose.

I'll post my thoughts here once I've had some time to listed and evaluate.

Just received mine yesterday after missing the postman Monday. Really impressed with the sound so far. I might be gifting my old Sony NW-A45 to my GF very soon.

I am, however, having connectivity issues with Bluetooth connectivity when music is paused. I suspect it has to do with standby mode being enabled but I need to test further.

It did 14hrs on balanced with 50% volume. Impressive. I dont really use BT so not sure how well that works. Should try out HIBY link though.
Update: could not get Oneplus 3T to work with Hiby Link, regular BT streaming works normal.

I don’t see one. There is a search function for Tidal and Qobuz, but not for local files. There are several ways to view the music. You can list all files, all artists, all albums, and playlists. For long lists there is a nice scrubber feature on the side that makes getting to the right place in a list easier.

I got mine this week. It is a nice unit. I highly recommend it. I wrote up a detailed review if anyone is interested.

Nice little review, I was seriously considering the R3 Pro but a huge price drop on the Fiio M9 was to good to pass up. Because I got the M9 locally it comes with free shipping and a warranty and overall would cost me less than importing the R3 Pro. I still want to demo one when they finally show up in Canada just to see what it sounds like.

Well... can you elaborate on what support of it would consist of? From what I know of it PD charging should be compatible with all existing equipment...
