Yup. I joined this place when I was 14/15 and when people necro threads I posted in, I try to avoid reading what I said. 
 
Also, I likewise advise you to leave while you can. If you find something that you like, stop buying new things. I got curious and tried the HE500, and when I found flaws with even that, I've been continually trying to find what my preferred sound signature is, even within different genres. Heck, now I'm saving up for a setup consisting of an RS1 (or AD2000, wasting a lot of time here reading as much as I can about them), M100, and Q701, and I'm sure I'll still find some issues with all that. You get really picky after a while.

This might be true for some but for me I eventually found my perfect headphones and stopped buying more. 
 
On the bright side headphones don't really depreciate (unless they're FOTM) so you can usually get like 90% of the value back by reselling them, then invest that money in newer BETTER headphones.

My dream is just to own a pair of Sennheiser Hd800's!!!! I havent even listened to them yet. All of my headphones came from Ebay. Because there is literally NO store that sells cans. I can't even try out common headphones! The only *******ed ones I can test out is the ******** beats by dr. Dre piece of crap line and the overpriced Bose quiteconfort line.
 
           I dont even want to get started on my highschool. Oh man! What a sight! ibuds EVeRYWHere and beats by dre EveRyWherE. I once saw one guy actually wearing a pair of Sennheisers though. I wasn't close enough to get a good look at them. I also know a guy that owns a pair of cans! (can you believe that?) Its only the sony Xb500's though. You know why? BASS BASS BASS

 just to make you more jealous, I've listened to every high-end headphone out there(almost..)

Oh of course, like I said, if the OP finds something s/he really likes, stop buying new things because it's highly likely that A: You won't even like it or B: You'll find flaws with your current headphones and flaws with your new headphones and spend a lot of money trying to rectify that. I'm in the latter section. I loved my AKG K271 but when I got a pair of Turbine Pros, I realized that the AKGs were pretty thin sounding. And now here I am. But I will admit that the journey has been fun, and I've had quite a few cool experiences.
 
And yup. I've bought used for all of my headphones and I'm fairly certain if I was in a bind for cash and stuck all my stuff on eBay, I'd at the very least break even because some of the older stuff appreciates in value if they get hyped up.

Yeah. Like when I buy headphones I don't consider the money gone, I've just converted the money into something I can use. I could convert it back to money if I got into a pickle.

I never found a setup I 'really liked' before I ran into a properly amped HE500... First time I felt satisfied with the sound. Everything in this hobby is relative.

still though I joined as a High School senior an  now as a College student, I've got 4 pairs of cans [3 mid fi and my first 1 low fi] ... 2 tube hybrid amps 2 Solid State portables and 2 sources e.e
 
run xD but it is a fun hobby
