Hello,

Just sharing my thoughts since I have started collecting headphones when I started visiting Head-fi.

The idea is to collect one headphone from each brand to show it to my future son/daughter that this were the headphones when I was your age.

I'll just start with budget in mind since headphones in my country are expensive.

The first is my Koss Portapro since this was the first headphone I bought when I visited Head-fi.

Any thoughts?

ER4s, Stax Lambda, Sennheiser HD424 . You could open up a 20 or 30 year capsule and be doing pretty well for yourself.

Grado SR60s will be 20 years old on a couple and they're also pretty significant.

Thanks for sharing :)

Well I have put my portapro in the time capsule now. This will be my representative for the bang-for-the-buck Koss sound.

For Grado should I put the Alessandro MS1i or the SR60i or both?

SR60 (i or no i); more iconic.

I like the other suggestions to the thread. Excellent call on the TF10. If there's no small proportion of IEM's I'd add the ADDIEM to stand with the Apple buds, just so we know Apple tried to aim quite a bit higher. I'd substitute MDR-7506 for V6, and maybe the wooden full-size JVC because it's quite sexy. Also if we're including rather pricey phones, the TOTL Audio Technica open phones would represent well. The Senn lineup over the years deserves its own time capsule :p.

And being a KSC75 owner, it gets my vote for singularly epitomizing cost versus performance (though recently in my head-fi journey I have found it wanting).
