I second that! My KGSShv is great. We all owe Kevin a big favour to share his knowledge with the DIY community and
as far as I understand it, get the first BH of the ground as well. What a dude.

I see (traditional speaker systems) high end audio companies that are tiny, some one guy, but producing really nice gear.
It is what keep this high end hobby alive. Too many big names (I won't mention them here) sell to a price with compromised
designs and poor parts quality, just fancy casework. Many of the best hifi manufacturers in the UK have been bought out by
a big fish, and the original genius behind the company is not involved anymore. I think use your ear and also flip the lid to
see what's inside is key.

Another reason for a heathy DIY audio industry. Not that there are not overpriced components either.

BHSE will be the first piece of commercial audio gear I have bought in many years. Not sure I would want to do the high voltages needed for electrostatic use.

Besides the fact that the BHSE is both the most beautiful, and arguably the most capable units out there.

Thanks for the tip Golfnutz, I used to check TubeWorld stock but not much these days. Just bought one of the XF2-OO quads, there's another one available (750USD). Maybe this is outrageous price for those who stockpiled in 2008 but matched pairs from reputable sellers on ebay aren't any less expensive than this (more like 250-300Euros/matched pair).

My pleasure Arnaud - hope you enjoy them.

How does the XF2 OO's compare to the PH's ?

IMO they are very similar, except the XF2 have more/better of everything (soundstage, details, resolution, imaging). If the PH's didn't have the reliability issues they would be worth it. I got about 2500 hours on my first quad (10 months). If XF2's last 5000 hours, then to me it's money well spent (anything over is a bonus). Another thing I like about the XF2 (and XF3) is the fact that I can listen at louder levels without losing anything.

Hi Golfnutz, where would you say the MBs now fit amongst the PHs and XF2s?

My blue MBs are still running fine, and they don't exhibit any untoward brightness using my 007s. So I still rate them as slightly above the PHs irrespective of cost.
