Ok, will do brother. It will be a work in progress that is subject to change at any given moment due to my mood.

Hands down, Tralucent Audio Ref 1 Too. Second would be asg g2.5.
Hmm, to get the MDR-7550 or not. So tempting.
I really liked it, hella comfortable but the isolation isn't the best. But man dat bass doe. I am def picking up a pair once I see a good deal on one.
The cool thing is that the 7550 is one of a handful of offerings from the sony professional side, so its no joke. After I sold off my EX1000, I regretted it so a friend lent me his EX1000 and 7550 for several weeks and I loved the 7550. Build quality is solid and it will last you awhile.
Thanks for the comment and for the use of "hella" (I'm born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area). Do you prefer the 7550 over the 1000?

Mind you, I don't have them anymore to compare side by side, but for general music listening I preferred the 7550 as it sounded great with everything. EX1000 didn't sound as good with my EDM and Hip hop tracks. But the EX1000 is also worth owning as it has some of the best quality sub bass I have heard beside the Ortofon EQ8. The EX1000 bass tickles me in an unhealthy way haha, and it was great for some of my softer music.
Wasn't aware of any connection between hella and San Fran
I really hope that the 2.5 is superior as I own the Fortes and they got me hooked on dynamic drivers. Thus I have now bought chillaxings 2.5's and am currently getting them reshelled as customs, without even having heard them
I will compare and pass on my findings
Cool, I just ordered the 7550. The 1000 is on my list, but for another day when I have an extra $400 burning a hole in my pocket .
Hella.
I just received my ex800st (7550) from Japan. Been using the xb90 for a while now as my favorite. At first hearing, I was underwhelmed by the bass, high treble, and was messing with the eq to make it sound better, asking myself, did I pay this much for this? Oh yea, I remembered the word "tape mod." So I just used my fingers to block the vents, and boom!... tons of bass and clarity throughout without any eq. Time to do an ocd electrical tape job to make it look perfect. Never heard the ex1000 yet, but all the praise for the 7550 is true so far.
also worth remembering that Sony IEM's in particular really benefit from a burn in period. Just blast music through them even when you're not listening to them for 12-24 hours (varies depending on model). They usually really open up after that.I just received my ex800st (7550) from Japan.
