Idk why but I hate eqing ^^ lol I try it and then I get paranoid XD. Uhm I was thinking of getting this cable

I will wait though until they get bruned in properly, I never actually ran it through my burn in playlist, I'm aggravatingly doing that now as we speak XD. Hopefully that helps. If not I'll try the cable out, with the small difference it might make. Also, the HD600 cable is 1/4 inch right?

HD600 is mini plug.. if you want 1/4", get the HD650 cable.  Note that you will have to reverse the cups so that the plugs are on the bottom and you will be going Y instead of single entry.

I believe a decent amp will help. I bought my HD25s with 100 hrs already on them and heard the sibilance right away. Once I got an amp (with lossless files of course) things really cleaned up and now it's sparkly without being overly sharp. But in the beginning, I felt it and it hurt. I wouldn't bother changing the cable.

Your amp is a warmer amp though. Matched with the right amp, it sounds better. If you get a brighter or more neutral amp it won't help or make it worse. Warm amps tend to match up really well with HD25s though.

True. And also, I just read about a double foam mod on another thread you posted on Waki. The guy put velour pads and an extra piece of foam inside to ease the sound a bit. Maybe you fiddle with that. And it won't hurt to burn them in.

Just bump up the bass a little and fill a bit of the gap at around 3-4Khz and you should be golden. I run mine of off a Rockboxed Clip+, which has a great parametric EQ, and they honestly couldn't sound better. Clean, quick sound and hard, tight bass.

The amp I use is way more than $40 - it's the RSA P51 Mustang. I use it with my DiyMod which makes for a nice, warm and lush source. I got this amp after I got my Fiio E5 (which is only really a bass boost) after doing much research. Read up on this thread and do a lot of research before pulling the trigger.

The P51 is really the only one I have experience with but I've heard good things about Ibasso amps. And the most acclaimed one at around $40 is the PA2V2. I think you should save up and stretch your budget just a little more and check the FS forums here and there. You definitely don't need something too expensive though. And like kyuutketsuki said, you should definitely get a warm amp, since it will balance things out.

Damn, I'm in high school now so spending money on things like this doesn't get approval from just about anyone XD, and then in college I'll be stuck with like no funds for anything, and hopefully in med school I'll be dying from studying, damn it got like 10 years till I can freely buy all this stuff XDD. CURSE YOU HEAD FI.....
anywayyy lol I really do like the sansa mp3 player, I thought they did do a good job of keeping a bright sound, but at the same time really relaxed, atleast that's how they were for the MS400's. Only problem was I really close to hated the way they organized the music, and I couldn't sync it with itunes for some reason. Oh and I wanted the Shure se215's instead of another mp3 player XD. Do you guys actually know an amp for pretty damn cheap that resembled the sansa sound.

Roma- how does the P51 sound and how much is it. I was considering the Ibasso t3, but I couldn't find a better deal for the HD25 Adidas's.

Great cable! Though I'm not sure if I'd choose the fabric for HD25, at least not for the upper cables.

Btw, mine should be here next week. Scored a nice deal for 125$, I'm just a bit worried how these will fill the shoes left by the Grado SR80i.

I don't think HD25-1 will be a downgrade over SR80i overall, but it is no Grado.

I see it as a gateway drug to Sennheiser. I once tried the HD25 and quite liked them, though I was really surprised how tiny and light they are! Now to save some monies for a good DAC+amp and a HD650, hehe...

HD600 is the gateway drug, I think.  =P
I wish I could give HD800 a whirl.

I listened to most Senns driven from an Auditor and fed from a Rotel CD drive. I think that I could like the HD650 because HD25 is the brighter headphone. Not sure about the HD800, for that price I might as well go ortho or static.
