Here's my SR225i with new headband and 414s for you all to appreciate.
Here's my SR225i with new headband and 414s for you all to appreciate.
Just finished my new case for the O2 and ODAC and since it goes with the Grado's I thought it would be OK to post another shot
I purchased my 225's about 2-3 weeks ago. I'm having mixed results. I upgraded from a the SR60's. One issue seems to be the bass. While more defined it seems to be really lacking in comparison. I'm wondering about some of the modifications that you guys have done and if that's the route to go (links?). I really enjoy the mids/highs and have discovered new things about old recordings but am surprised that the bass seems to lack the same conviction as the cheaper SR60's. Thoughts?
the tape mod !!
place some electrical tape around the outside of the bowls, thats the only way i listened with my 225's when i had them
Odd, i find my 225's have better bass than the 80i or MS1's. Its certainly much more clearly defined, so perhaps the fluffier low end on the 60's is being perceived as more bass?
Also agree with the tape mod, or as i have found aftermarket foam that is denser sounds much better, the pads really do make all the difference with Grados.
Thanks, all. I will look into some resources for the tape mod (Youtube?)
